The South carries within it both confinement and possibility. It is a place shaped by survival, by a history of resistance that has defined not only the land but the people who inhabit it. To be from the South is to inherit both its burden and its clarity, to be shaped by a force that is at once protective and consuming. Resistance exists as more than an act—it is a condition, a structure through which identity is negotiated. It asks what it means to endure, and whether endurance alone is enough.

Here, family and home are continuously threatened, reconstructed, and redefined. They are tied to land but also to memory, to what is passed down and what is left behind.

Family photo albums are left buried in the rubble of bombed homes, remnants of airstrikes and destruction. Warped and ruined, yet not erased. A search for more begins—digging, uncovering, collecting remnants of personal and collective histories left behind, unclaimed, abandoned as if they no longer mattered.

For me, the child appears neither consumed by nor separate from the adult world but moving through it—imitating, absorbing, or reflecting something beyond themselves. There is an unsettling proximity between play and possession, innocence and something more elusive, what is remembered and what is imagined. History becomes something not to be escaped but rather held.

The images take on a pulse, refusing disappearance. This archive is not a ruin but a process of becoming. Evidence of persistence, of history reshaping itself, of a future waiting to be provoked.

يحمل الجنوب في طياته القيد كما يحمل الفرصة. إنّه مكان صاغه صراع البقاء، وتاريخ المقاومة الذي لم يُشكّل الأرض وحدها، بل كذلك الناس الذين سكنوها. أن تكون من الجنوب يعني أن ترث عبئه ووضوحه معاً، أن تُشكّلك قوة تحميك بقدر ما تستهلكك. فالمقاومة هنا ليست مجرد فعل، بل حالة، وبنية يُتفاوض من خلالها على صياغة الهوية. تطرح سؤالاً: ما معنى أن تحتمل وتصمد؟ وهل يكفي الصمود وحده؟

في هذا المكان، العائلة والبيت معرّضان دوماً للتهديد، لإعادة البناء وإعادة التعريف، فهما مرتبطان ليس فقط بالأرض، بل أيضاً بالذاكرة، بما يُورَّث وما يُترك وراءنا.

تُدفن ألبومات الصور العائلية تحت أنقاض المنازل التي طالها القصف، بقايا الغارات والدمار. مشوّهة، مخرّبة، لكنها لم تُمحَ. ومن هنا يبدأ البحث عن المزيد: التنقيب والكشف وجمع بقايا التواريخ الشخصية والجماعية، تلك التي تُركت ولم يُطالب بها أحد كأن أمرها لم يعد يعني أحداً.

يبدو لي أنّ الطفل لا يُستهلك ولا ينفصل بشكل كامل عن عالم الكبار. لكنه يتحرك في فضائه، يُقلّد، يكتسب، ويعكس شيئاً يتجاوز ذاته. ثمّة قُرب مقلق بين اللعب والتملك، بين البراءة وما هو أكثر توارياً وغموضاً، بين ما تستعيده الذاكرة وما يتوهمه العقل. التاريخ لا يصبح شيئاً يجب الفرار منه، بل شيئاً ينبغي احتضانه.

تنبض الصور بالحياة، وترفض الاختفاء. هذا الأرشيف ليس أنقاضاً، بل عملية تشكُّل. هو دليل على المثابرة، على تاريخ يعيد صياغة نفسه، وعلى مستقبل ينتظر أن يُبعث.

With a focus on photography, his practice seeks to uncover, recontextualize, and transform remnants of the past into dynamic narratives that challenge how memory is seen and understood.

فنان متعدد التخصصات من جنوب لبنان وُلد عام 1995. علّم نفسه بنفسه، ويستكشف في أعماله مفاهيم الذاكرة والهوية وتعقيدات التاريخ عبر التصوير الفوتوغرافي والبحث الأرشيفي والأساليب الوثائقية. يسعى في ممارسته، باستخدام التصوير بشكل أساسي، للكشف وإعادة تكوين السياق وتحويل بقايا الماضي إلى سرديات حيّة تتحدى طرق اختبار الذاكرة وفهمها.
